Show THE GOLDEN SPIKE NYTHING that is worth having is worth working for”; therefore, depression or no depression, we have endeavored this year to put out a “Golden Spike” that will be a credit to the school and which will always be remembered by the “4 students. The individuals most active in accomplishing this were: Mr. Westergard, who proved, through his constant patience with an inexperienced staff and his faithful and timely help on all difficulties, that he is fully capable of officiating as the yearbook faculty advisor; Norma Anderson, Margaret McFarland, and Irene Storey, who assisted materially on revising and writing many of the reports and write-ups and on doing much of the usual mechanical work; John Sarlo, who compiled an accurate and complete account of all football and basketball games for the athletic section; Carl Taylor, Marie Hawkes, and Verdi Powell, whose excellent contributions to the snap section will prove an everlasting source of amusement to the students; Morgan Shaw, whose interesting are cartoons more realistic than many will care to admit; Mr. Murphy, whose business ability was shown in the efficient in which manner he supervised financing yearbook; the Le Grand Ward and his faithful assistants, Carlyle Shurtliff and Lettice Orton, who devoted much time and energy toward establishing the yearbook on a sound financial basis. To this group we owe much of the actual work on the yearbook. students we will owe even more if, when be too harsh and critical in their condemnation | so valiantly to make a success.
