FBLA - FUTURE BUSINESS OF AMERICA LEADERS Each year FBLA Participates in the region Competition and the State Conference and Competition. Our Members compete with other members throughout the state of Utah in contests such as typewriting, shorthand, accounting, public speaking, parliamentar y proce- dures, business law, economics, and graphic design. Our State winn ers then go onto National Competition. The location is in a different city each year such as Washington D.C., San Franc isco, Houston, and Miami. Most of our activity is in preparat ion for the above mentioned comp etition. In September, our officers go to leadership training at Park City. There they enjoy many activities and meet other FBLA officers from the State of Utah. Each year we Participate in Weber High School’s homecoming by entering a float in the parade and decor ating a wall for the occasion. At Christmas time, we decorate a Christmas tree here at the school and then donate it toa needy famil y through the Salvation Army. There is always a field trip to acquaint our busin ess students with the business comm unity. A first-hand look is always helpf ul and interesting. At least one communit y service project is on our agenda. We help needy children, visit the elder ly, help on the Chamber of Commerce comm ittees, donate blood, or whatever needs to be done. Business people are always eager to come and speak to us, and we appreciate them bringing the world of business to our world of FBLA.
