Show 26 DEFICIENCIES IN ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS 1. A student eighteen years of age or over who has not completed fifteen units of high school work may be admitted by passing the General Educational Development Tests or Standard Entrance Tests given by the College. A student with this classification who has been in attendance at a high school within one year preceding the time of application for admission to Weber College must submit a written recommendation from the high school principal. The Admissions Committee may give special privileges to a student applying for admission to the Technical Education Division. 2. A student twenty-one years of age or over who has not completed high school may be admitted if in the judgment of the Admissions Committee his preparation is adequate. If such a student plans to graduate from Weber College or work toward a higher degree, he must meet the college entrance requirements. If a student does not meet the requirements for admission in his chosen field, he will have to make up these deficiences and more than likely will need extra time to complete graduation requirements. No unmatriculated student may become a candidate for gradu-tion, except by satisfying the regular entrance requirements, or by action of the Admissions Committee. Credit earned prior to the satisfying of general entrance requirements may not be considered college credit. In order to be admitted to Weber College in any of the classifications a student must be of good moral character. A student who has been dropped from any high school or college on account of poor scholarship, or unsatisfactory conduct, or who is on probation at another institution may not register at Weber College without first appealing to the Admissions Committee for entrance. Filing of Credits A student who expects to enter Weber College for the first time must make application in writing, Application forms will be furnished by the office of the Registrar upon request. A student should have his high school credits on file in the Registrar's Office by July 1. If his credits are not on file by the time of registration, he may be denied entrance. A student who has taken college work previous to his registration in Weber College must file his credits from all other institutions attended. Student Activity Fee is $6.50 for students entering the Winter Quarter and $4.00 for students entering the Spring Quarter. All fees for the quarter are due and payable at the Treasurer's Office at the time of registration. Out-of-State Fee A student who is not a legal resident of Utah is required to pay an out-of-state registration fee of $35.00 a quarter. This fee is in addition to an annual resident registration of $10.00 and the regular tuition fee of $25.00 a quarter. Registrations Governing Residence: A prospective student whose credentials indicate out-of-state status will be so classified. All requests for resident classification must be filed with the Treasurer's Office. Application forms are available at the Office of the Treasurer. These requests will be considered in accordance with the following general rules: 1. The residence of a minor is determined by that of his legal guardian. 2. Residence in Utah merely for the purpose of attending Weber College does not entitle the student to resident classification. 3. Resident classification require permanent residence within the State of Utah for at least one year immediately preceding registration, together with the concurring intention to make Utah one's permanent abode. Miscellaneous Fees Laboratory Fees (field trips) may be required in the following courses not to exceed the amounts indicated: Agriculture 2, $2.00; Agriculture 5, $5.00; *Biology 1, $2.00; Botany 6, $5.00; *Botany 9, $15.00; *Geography 2 and 11, $10.00; *Geology 1, 3, 9, 14, and 21, $10.00; Geology 5 and 11, $10.00; Geology 7 and 8 $2.50; Physical Science 1 and 2, $5.00 *Zoology 4, $3.00; Zoology 7, $15.00; *Zoology 10, $1.50; Zoology 17, $12.00; Zoology 20, $5.00; Zoology 25, $10.00. * (Not including subsistence.) *(Including Audubon Screen Tours.) Special Students: $3.50 a credit hour, minimum fee $15.00. Listening Courses in which no credit is desired: $5.00 a quarter for each subject. For laboratory or activity courses such as art, clothing, typewriting, and stenography, $3.50 is charged for each credit hour of the course, with a minimum fee of $7.00. Evening Courses: Information regarding Evening School courses is available at the Registrar's Office, or it may be secured by writing or calling Weber College. The charge for each course is announced in advance. All night school students will be charged a lecture fee of 50 cents a quarter.
