Show THE STATE OF UTAH WEBER COLLEGE OGDEN, UTAH henry aldous dixon PRESIDENT February 26, 1951 President Earl S. Paul Weber College Carpentry Advisory Committee, Inc. Ogden, Utah Dear President Paul: This letter is written to express appreciation for your excellent leadership and support of the Weber College Carpentry Training Program during the past eleven years. A list of the accomplishments of the committee is impressive. The corporation was formed October 21, 1940 'to foster the Carpentry Department of Weber College located at Ogden City, Weber County, Utah; to supply practical building experience for the carpentry and building trade students of said college by erecting and selling at least one house or building each year; and to use the funds realized from such sales for acquirement of property to promote such practical building experience of said students and not for profit to the incorporators or members. The original board of directors was Earl S. Paul, president; W. B. Prout, vice-president; R. A. Clarke, secretary-treasurer; H. A. Dixon; Thomas Wangsgard; Lorenzo E. Peterson; LeRoy Blaser; and Ora Bundy. The committee has sponsored a project each year (except during the war when the students were all in the armed services) as follows: 1. In 1940-41 a house was constructed at 2933 Brinker Avenue under the supervision of Lorenzo Peterson, instructor. It was sold to W. H. Handley. 2. In 1941-42 a house was constructed at 1126 -30th Street under the supervision of Glen Alexander, instructor. It was sold to Edwin L. Watson. |
