Show DEDICATION Back—Cook, Draayer, Gibson, Warner, Lundquist, Wallace, Hopfenbeck, Butler, Dinsdale, Jenkins. Front—Tucker, Slater. Utah State High School Basketball Champions, 1948 To the members of the basketball team and the Cooch we dedicate the 1948 Golden Spike not only because they won the state championship, but also because they won the admiration and respect of the fans and public of the state. Their grit, determination and sportsmanship were lauded as well as their ability as individual players and as a team. At banquets in their honor given by the Kiwanis of Roy, the Ogden Kiwanis Club, the town of Plain City, the Ogden Junior Chamber of Commerce, Weber Alumni, and the combined Service Clubs of Ogden, at the assembly in the Egyptian Theatre, and at the dance given them by our school, the boys and their Coach were praised highly. For the recognition and honor they have brought Weber and to add our compliments for their achievements to those others, we inscribe this book to Weber’s great championship team of 1948. ba] |
