Band. And The Band Played On Take one noisy brass section, mix well with squeaky woodwinds, season with one loud percussion section, stirred by Mr. Reid, and you have our Band complete with smart red, black, and white uniforms. They played everything from overtures to boogie-woogie and jazz. Their list of activities included playing at home football games, sending seven members to the All-State Band, the Spring Concert, the Region One Music Festival, and marching at special parades. Some of the best players were organized into a Pep Band for Basketball Games and Pep Rallies, and others played in small groups and ensembles for programs. The officers for this year were President, James Richards; Vice-President, Gwenda Cragun, and Secretary, Ramona Poulson.
