Sirs: Subject: This letter shall Gas-operated by both the Machine Rifle licensee and the licensors be considered and accepted as a supplement to the agreement made the twenty-second day of November, A.D.1917, by and between John RAivie Browning and Matthew S. Browning, called the "licensors", and the Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company, called the "licensee", WHEREAS: agreement Since the several date of the additions execution and of the aforementioned alterations have been made in the gas-operated Machine Rifle, including the addition of a dust cover and safety,magazine dropping device, and a speed retarding device, it is hereby agreed by the licensee that when any of these three particular articles are sold independent of rifles, whether to be attached to the rifles previously sold by the purchaser or for the purchaser by the licensee, on all such of said articles the licensee will pay to the licensors upon the net sales price particular articles. a royalty received of by ten the per cent licensee (10%), for the computed said three It is mutually agreed that when rifles are sold with any or all of these three parts included as a part of the rifle, no special royalty is to be paid upon them, the regular royalty on rifles covered by the agreement of November 22, 1917, being understood and agreed to cover all such rifles.
