Show CONTESTS Kathy Hurst was the winner contest, and Marva Burrows of the won the DAR Citizenship Oratorical for DAR. These girls competed in a field of should be congratulated for a job well done. contest 18 and Weber was well represented in the Foreign Language Festival at Weber College. The winners in the three languages were: Ron Reimchussell, Diana Berrett, Leota Murakami; row Erik Butler, and Bill Bunting. Austin, Vickie Harrop, Toni two: Sandra Ferguson, Claudia Albrethson, Absent when picture was taken were Roy Fowler, Linda Evans and Wayne Miya. One of the most outstanding achievements of the dramatics department this year was the one-act play, “Phoenix Too Frequent.” The cast consisted of only three students, and each of them gave an unforgettable perform- ance. Students participating were Ann Calderwood, Paul Taylor, and Lynn Kravet. The play was rated Superior at the region speech and drama meet. Chosen to be “Miss Teen-Age of Utah” was Gerry Strong, who also competed in the national contest in Texas as Utah’s representative, where she did very well. 112 Newly elected historian of the state FTA is Marne Buswell. She has been active in our chapter this year and was elected secretary of next year’s club. | |
