Show Outstanding Sophomore Girl-Carolyn Nelson "The Outstanding Sophomore Girl" title was given to Carolyn Nelson for her excellent accomplishments throughout the year. A faculty and student committee chose Carolyn from a list of girls nominated for their outstanding achievements. Preferred Man-Jim Watts Jim Watts proved to be the top man on the coeds "Most-Wanted-Man-List." Each girl on campus voted for her "King of Hearts", and the winner was announced at the A. W. S. Preference Ball. Jim was accompanied by two Jacks,--Stan Reid and Mike Murdock. The Fireman's Ball-Gene Kunz The Fireman's Ball, Sponsored by A. M. S. is a new event this year and is designed as an anniversary celebration of the classic Flaming-W-hike that unfortunately turned into a Flaming-Mountain-Hike. Gene Kun z was chosen as the Fire Chief. Freshman Queen-Cleo Esplin Cleo Esplin was chosen as the outstanding freshman for the past year. She was named as the winner at the Spring Fling sponsored by the freshman class. Otyokowo nominated Cleo but she was elected by all freshmen at Weber. |
