Show JOHN Q. BLAYLOCK, A.B., A.M. Professor of History and Political Science Professor Blaylock combines the talents of a wonderful teacher with happiest of attributes, a sense of humor. No student ever went into his classes without learning something constructive, and feeling good about it at the same time. As a leader, Professor Blaylock possesses a good deal of executive ability. This was proved by his expert management of the school during President Tracy's absence. LYDIA H. TANNER, B.S. Professor of Domestic Art and Science No one can comprehend the wonder of her culinary art until they have seen, tasted, and been conquered. And the girls Mrs. Tanner turns out of her department are cooks "par excellence," for Mrs. Tanner believes in the old adage: "The way to a man's heart is thru his stomach." ERNEST F. OBORN Instructor in Piano and Organ His has been the task of quelling with his "Prelude" the somewhat noisy students at the beginnings of Devotionals. He has never failed to give us a reverent background for our beloved Devotionals BETTY NOBLE Professor of Modern Languages and Literature No one has more energy and spirit than Miss Noble, especially when there is something to be done. She can teach all day long and still be as lively and full of pep as a spring robin. Her teaching, however, is remembered even longer than her spirit. No one is more popular everywhere than "Betty." ELI HOLTON Secretary and Treasurer of the School Secretary to Board of Trustees Mr. Holton's reliability is something to be emulated, for he has faithfully guarded the school finances for years. When it comes to a sense of humor, Mr. Holton has that, too. He can crack the best jokes we ever heard. WILLIAM Z. TERRY, B.S., A.M., PH.D. Professor of Mathematics A staunch man, tried and true, is Professor Terry. Nothing in the way of figures, mathematical or otherwise, can startle him. His experiences as a 'rithmetic teacher have given him a humorous, philosophical outlook that is his greatest asset. The students have found it a great comfort and very interesting for a teacher to treat them as Professor Terry does. EVA BROWNING Librarian She has lovely curly hair and a sweet smile, but she possesses a certain way of making a whole library of unruly students behave, no matter what their inclinations may be. JOHN G. LIND, B.S., A.M., PH.D. Professor of Physical Science Dr. Lind has the world in his head. He knows everything, from the meaning of the tiniest pebble to the most complex problems of science. He gives notes and low grades at lightning speed, but that doesn't prevent him from being one of the best sports in the school. He will do almost anything he is asked, and never forgets a student, once he learns to know him. Weber would not be Weber without Dr. Lind. LUCILE PARRY Secretary to the President Lucile is the other member of the office force that keeps the machinery of the school working smoothly. If we treat her nicely we can get her to do typewriting, give us stamps, and let us use the office phone. What would we do without Lucile! WILLIAM H. MANNING Professor of Music There's nobody else in existence just like Mr. Manning. He combines singing and eating to such a marvelous degree that altho he hasn't the figure of Apollo, he has the voice of Caruso. His glee clubs and operas are really artistic creations, and have made him quite a name among the music lovers of the city. |
