Distributors and Transporters UTAH WYOMING IDAHO Milt Mecham, head football coach at Weber College, has consistently produced a gridiron club with lots of pep and fight. Milt, who is comparatively young, has the respect and friendship of the boys in his club and many who are familiar with Wildcat squad morale attribute it to Mechams ability to mix and talk things over with his boys. Mecham assumed head coach responsibilities in 1946. A graduate of the University of Utah, Mecham lettered with the Ute pigskin squad three years and coached freshman football for two years on the U campus. Graduating from the Box Elder high school in 1934, he lettered under Coach Earl Ferguson and was All-State quarterback. Completing his Bachelor of Science Degree work at the U in 1938, he was inducted into the army in 1941 and discharged in 1945 as a captain. He coached football at Ogden high school after his discharge until he took the pigskin reins for Weber College. Mecham expects a banner year against W. C. opponents this year. The Wildcat squad, although greatly depleted by loss of many of its stellar lettermen, can be expected to deliver the best in football under Coach Mechams able guidance this season. MILTON C. MECHAM Head Football Coach Weber College WEBER ASSISTANT COACHES JIM FOULGER Backfield Jim Foulger is again playing a double role at Weber this year. Besides his part- time responsibilities as assistant football coach, he holds down the position of Weber College Treasurer. Because of his past personal experience as fullback in college and high school and the fact that he was a football coach for two years in the Ogden City School System, it was felt that he could lend new ideas and experience to the staff. Jim received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Utah where he also played fullback on the Ute aggregation. He completed work for his Doctors Degree at Harvard. His coaching duties this season will be with the W.C. backfield. CLAIR ANDERSON Line Clair L. Anderson hails from the University of Utah, where for three years he worked on the U Physical Education staff. Andy attended Manti High School and was a three- year letterman in basketball, tennis, track and baseball. He further matriculated at Snow Junior College and lettered for two years in football, track, baseball, and tennis. Also a letterman for the U in basketball and tennis, Andy received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from that institution in Physical Education. A veteran of four years service in the Navy, Anderson will take over the chores of line coach. DICK WILLIAMS Backfield Dick Williams is a new addition to the Weber coaching staff this year. Dick graduated from the University of Utah last spring with a major in Phys. Ed. He is also a graduate of Weber College where he gained widespread junior college recognition as a Wildcat halfback during the years of 1946-47. Williams graduated from Ogden High in 1942, where he also gained all-state recognition in the Tiger backfield. He put in a three-year hitch in the army during the last war. During his two years at Weber College Williams was given the KLO Standard Examiner award as the best all round athlete upon recommendation of the Weber College Athletic Council.
