Show 2013 Multicultural Affairs Youth Leadership Summit In support of Gov. Gary Herbert's education initiative, “66% by 2020,” a state goal that 66% of all working-age Utahns will hold a post-secondary degree or certification by 2020, the Utah Multicultural Affairs Office will host the first annual Multicultural Affairs Youth Leadership Summit for youth in grades 10° — 12" on T. uesday, April 30", at the Davis Convention Center in Layton. This one-day, conference Style program will bring together Utah students, parents, community leaders, state government and organizations for a_ series of presentations and breakout sessions encouraging youth to bridge the gap between themselves and their communities. This summit is free and students can register ASAP on line at. http://myleadershipsummit.eventbrite.com. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and space is limited. Utah Jurisdiction Women’s Convention The Utah Jurisdiction COGIC Department of Women will host their 43™ Annual Women’s Convention, April 30 — May 3, 2013 at Griffin Memorial COGIC. This year’s theme is, “Holy Women on Business for the King” [Luke 2:49]. T, hey will open the Convention with a Gospel Explosion Musical on Tuesday, April 30", at 7:30 p.m. Qur New Zion choir has been invited to render two selections. Nightly services will begin with prayer at /:00 p.m. followed by the service at 7:30 p.m. Convention speakers are as follows: May 1", First Lady Louise Dunn of Worldwide Gospel Church in Salt Lake City; May 2", Bishop Bobby Allen, Pastor of Griffin Memorial COGIC; Friday morning, May 3”, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon program, First Lady Willene Davis of Calvary Baptist Church; and Friday evening, May 3", Mother Carolyn Smith, Utah Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Department of Women.
