Show SPEECH Vira Beth in Robson placed first the annual D.A.R. contest. She received for her efforts. The oratorical a medal other entries from Weber were Phyllis Johnson and Joanne Stuart. Ogden High also participated with three entries out of was chosen. which a winner “The Constitution, Temple of Liberty.” This oration won Phyllis Johnson first place at the District No. 2 American Legion contest. Jordan Phyllis Johnson REGION ONE SPEECH WINNERS On March 25th and 26th the Speech Two students of Weber packed together all of their material. and set forth to Box Elder High School where the Region One Speech Meet was being held. The long hard hours of work that they spent in speech seemed not to be wasted as the results of the speech meet were posted. Weber again placed in all activities—debate, | | | extemp, oration and panel discussion. The students who won in the Speech Meet were: Vira Beth fi m Uor WINNERS | : | | Robson, and Olene Smith took third in debate, Jerry Hatch, placed third in extemp and Merle Zophy was chosen as alternate. In oration Phyllis Randall won fifth place and Joanne Stuart sixth place. In panel discussion Darrell Renstrom was chosen along with four others from Region One to act as legislators.
