Show 58 WEBER NORMAL COLLEGE solo clarinetist of Sousa's band; he occupied first chair with Anthon Pedersen in the famous K. P. band. He was conductor of the Walla Walla Military band for seven years. He has been a teacher of band instruments for thirty years. Gladys Peterson Has been a pupil of Tracy Y. Cannon during past few years. She has developed an unusual amount of musical talent and has developed into a pianist of ability. In 1913 she won the first prize for piano solo in the Weber Stake M. I. A. contest. She has been a student of the Weber Normal College for the last four years. During that time she was always prominent in the musical activities of the school. Florence Jepperson Miss Jepperson for 11 years studied in that great music center of Boston. Graduated with honors from the New England Conservatory of Music as soloist and teacher. For four years she was at the head of the vocal department of Lasell Seminary during which time she was also doing professional singing throughout the East. Miss Jepperson is connected with the Weber Normal College, the L. D. S. University, and the B. Y. University. William C. Clive TEACHER OF VIOLIN FEES Tuition for Private Lessons Payable Monthly in Advance Registration and graduation fees for subject taken in the regular high school and college departments. WEBER NORMAL COLLEGE 59 GRADUATION A diploma will be given when a student has sixteen units of credit, provided those credits shall include the following: Theology 2 units English 3 units History, Science, Mathematics 3 units Modern Languages 2 units Instrumental or Vocal Music 3 units Sight Singing (solfeggio) 1/2 unit Harmony and Composition 1 unit PUBLIC RECITALS Periodical public recitals will be given by the departments each year, in which the choir, orchestra and advanced pupils of the departments will participate. Entrance tuition does not entitle students to private instruction. This must be arranged with individual teachers. Students will be given opportunity to practice, within the building, during school hours, by making application at the office. Credits will be determined by the pupil's industry and advancement, which in all cases must be left for the teacher to decide. |
