An intensive dictation course emphasizing shortcuts and special phrasing. Individual instruction in specialized vocabulary and dictation will be offered to anyone who wishes to prepare to become a legal or medical secretary or a secretary in any other specialized field. Abbreviations, omission and blending of letters, and the substitution of signs and numbers for words and parts of words are the basic principles of Hy-Speed. A system of note taking. A foundation course in typewriting designed to achieve mastery of the keyboard and to attain a typing speed of at least 25 words a minute, with special emphasis placed on technique and accuracy drills.
