Show 1962 Projects Completed During this Period were: 1) Four Corners Project Construction of a dam, cooling pond, power plant substructure, roads, mine building and design and construction of coal handling facilities. The date of this cost plus fee contract was December, 1960 and the work was completed in October of 1962. The cost of the project was $8,534,417. Utah has leased a 25, 000-acre coal deposit from the Navajo Indian tribe, and this deposit contains one of the largest low-cost thermal energy reserves in the Western United States. It is estimated that this 600-million ton reserve can supply enough fuel to generate 2,500, 000 kw. for more than 60 years. Utah's fuel contract provides for the delivery of energy which will be the equivalent of 1,500,000 tons of coal annually to Arizona Public Service for 35 years. Arizona Public Service Company has options to extend this term an additional 15 years and to purchase additional fuel as it increases the generating capacity to 800,000 kw. 2} Alameda Tenants Store alterations to the Alameda Shopping Center at South Shore Center, Alameda, California. The lump sum contract is dated November, 1961 and work was completed in October of 1962. The cost of the work was $24,289. 3) Oakland Airport Terminal This lump sum contract was bid September 12, 1960. Work involved the construction of a reinforced concrete ticket building, a two- story terminal building with an eleven-story central tower, and a finger building to service the passenger-loading ramps. The owner of this project was the Port of Oakland, Oakland, California. The work was completed in October of 1962 and cost $5,320,250. 4) Stanford Housing Project The construction of four fraternity houses, a faculty residence and central kitchen for Stanford University, Stanford, California. The lump sum contract is dated May, 1961 and work was completed in October, 1962. The cost of the project was $1,300,204. |
