Bureau of Public Roads in the amount of $38,000, Apex Crystal Springs Highway in Nevada for the Nevada Highway Department in the amount of $182,000. U. S. Air Bases in the Pacific for the U. S. Navy amounting to $553, 000, 000. U. S. Navy Procurement in California amounting to $1, 212, 000, 000, (Both this project and. the above listed air base were not finished in 1939, but much later. This project was completed in 1954 by Utah and four other companies jointly. It covered a multitude of construction projects on Guam and other Pacific Islands, for the U. S. Navy Bureau of Yards and Docks . During World War II a similar group completed the air bases for air fields, supply depot, hospital and other construction in Hawaii and other Pacific Islands,) Following is a Balance Sheet for 1939. Also a list of work on the books in 1939 is given so that the reader might gain a better idea of what was going on in 1939 and also what some of the contracts were originally, along with our percentages , It might also be said that during this period and earlier, Utah Construction and Mining had a substantial holding in livestock, and in agricultural and range land. In 1939, Utah had $1, 225, 293. 64 worth of livestock and $2,811,894,06 worth of agricultural and range land. |
