Show Vice Presidents and Group Executives John F. Burlingame Vice President and Group Executive, International and Canadian Group John graduated from Tufts College in 1943 with a BS in physics, and served in the Navy for three years before joining the Company in 1946. He was named a Consultant, Management Consultation Service in 1955, Manager of Engineering for the Light Military Electronics Division in 1962, and General Manager of the Special Information Products Department of the Defense Electronics Division in 1965. He was elected Vice President and named General Manager of Information Systems Equipment Division in 1969, following a year and a half with RCA. In 1970 he was named Vice President, Corporate Employee Relations Operation. Present position, 1973. Location: Fairfield. Robert R. Frederick Vice President and Group Executive, Consumer Products Group Bob joined the Company in 1948 after graduating from DePauw University. He held marketing assignments in Housewares, Refrigerator, Home Laundry, and Sales and Distribution Components until 1966, when he became General Manager of the former Hotpoint Home Laundry Department. In 1967 he was named General Manager of the Consumer Goods-Europe with headquarters in Milan, Italy. In 1969 he became General Manager of the Color Television Department and in 1970, General Manager of the Home Laundry Products Division. He was elected Vice President in 1970 and was named Manager-Group Strategic Planning Operation for the Major Appliance Business Group in 1973. Present position, 1973. Location: Fairfield. Stanley C. Gault Vice President and Group Executive, Major Appliance Business Group Stan graduated from the College of Wooster in 1948, joined the General Electric Supply Company, Cleveland, and held various positions in sales and advertising before becoming Manager of Sales for the Home Laundry Department in 1959. He was named Manager of Merchandising for the Sales and Distribution Department in 1961, and Manager of Marketing for Home Laundry in 1962 and for Household Refrigerator in 1964. He became Manager of Hotpoint Refrigerator Department in 1966, General Manager of the Household Refrigerator Department in 1967, and General Manager of the Household Refrigerator Products Deputy Division in 1968. He was elected Vice President and named General Manager of the Refrigerator Products Division in 1969 and received his present post in 1970. Location: Louisville. Edward E. Hood. Jr. Vice President and Group Executive, Power Generation Business Group Ed received BS and MS degrees from North Carolina State College and served in the Air Force before joining the Company in 1957. He served as supervisor of preliminary design and mechanical systems design, and manager of aero/thermo and mechanical systems design for several engine programs, and in 1962 was named to head the Company's SST program. He was named General Manager of Commercial Engine Programs in 1967. He was elected Vice President and named General Manager, Commercial Engine Projects Division in 1968, and Vice President and Group Executive, International and Canadian Group in 1972. Kurtz Vice President and Group Executive, Industrial and Power Delivery Group In 1940 Bob graduated from Lehigh University (BSEE and BS, business administration) and joined the Company as a test engineer. After assignments in control engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, he became General Manager of the General Purpose Control Department in 1960, General Manager of the Electronic Components Division in 1967 and General Manager of the Construction Industries Division in 1967. He was elected Vice President and named General Manager of the Contractor Equipment Business Division in 1968; became Vice President and Group Executive, Construction Industries Group in 1972, and was named Vice President and Group Executive, Industrial Group later that year. Present position, 1974. Location: Fairfield. Mark Morton Vice President and Group Executive, Aerospace Business Group Mark received a BSME degree from New York University in 1934. He was a mechanical engineer at the Philco Corporation, an aeronautical engineer at the Naval Aircraft Factory, and a section head and later chief engineer at the Naval Air Development Center before joining the Company in 1956 as Manager of Project Planning and Review, Missile and Space Vehicle Department. He was named Manager of Projects in 1958, Manager of the Re-entry Systems Product Section in 1961, and General Manager of the Re-entry Systems Department in 1962. He became General Manager of the Missile and Space Division in 1968, and was elected Vice President the same year. Present position, 1969. Location: Fairfield and Valley Forge.? |
