No charge for this event. Featuring: Japanese Musical Time: 6:30p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: chairs, blankets, snacks. August 17th (Wednesday) - Senior Citizen Picnic All residents 55 years and older are invited to the Summer Picnic. Come and visit and share memories with friends from our great community. Place: Slaterville Park Time: 5:30p.m. Cost: $3.00 per person RSVP: City Office 627-1919 Planning Commission - August 10, 2005 - 7:00 PM 1. Call to Order/Approval of minutes. 2. Request to rezone 20 acre at approximately 900 West 12th Street from A-1 to C-1. 3. Conceptual planning discussion on future business. 4. Adjourn until September 14, 2005. This agenda is tentative and items can and will change. City Council Agenda - August 18, 2005 - 6:30 PM 1. Call to Order/Approval of minutes. 2. Business License: Schofield Transportation Services, 826 West 1700 South. 3. New Business. 4. Discuss park, building, and user fees. 5. Status of senior center and municipal building. 6. Officers reports and legislative oversight. 7. Adjourn until September 15, 2005. This agenda is tentative and items can and will change. LOCAL UPDATES Senior Center and Municipal Building. The new city office and senior center is quickly being completed. It is estimated that the building will be occupied by October. There will be a need for volunteers to assist with the necessary landscaping. If you are interested, please contact the city office at 627-1919. Contribution to the community comes in many forms, such as: talent, leadership, beautification projects, and service. Several awards have been created to recognize such persons, so take the time to nominate someone or to make an entry. Winners will be recognized with a certificate at a council meeting. GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD Too often government is involved in problems between neighbors, this award is designed as an opportunity to give positive involvement. Residents can nominate an outstanding resident or business to be recognized by the community. Qualification for this award include: Individuals who go the extra mile to maintain a beautiful yard or property. Individuals who encourage or help other neighbors in a positive manner. Residents or businesses regarded for their appreciation and dedication to the community. The deadline for nominations is September 1, 20045. Recipients of the "Good Neighbor Award" will be selected by the mayor from the nominations received. |
