NOTES One of the best organizations in our school is the H. C. P. It is a Literary Society and works of the best writers are studied. During the past semester we have been studying some of Alice Carey's poems, the life of George Elliot and one of her masterpieces, Middle-march. The H. C. P. girls entertained the Basket Ball boys at a Christmas Tree Party Dec. 17th. SOCIETY NOTES The Leap-Year Ball, given by the Sorority Dec. 18, '08, was a huge success, both socially and financially. The decorations were the most unique and girls spared neither time nor money in making it the event of the season. The color scheme was red and black and evergreen. There were five trees, heavily laden with pop-corn, cranberries, and ornaments and no less than two hundred bell were hung in all parts of the hall. Another interesting event, was the Matinee given by the Sorority in honor of the Basket Ball Boys. The proceeds were used to defray the expenses of the team.
