Show 28 ACORN Dear Editor: Why won't Francis Budge? Is Critchlow's Will very strong? Is Myrtle very Young? What happens when Iva Steers wrong? Is-a-bel Beveridge? Is there a Rae of light? Where are Lyman's Gowans? Does Millar fly out at night? Is Alma Will's son? Is Miss Jacobs Mary all the time? Is Irvin Nell's son? Dear Editor, please this rhyme. If you find that water's wet, Jot it down. If your lessons you forget, Jot it down. If a class you've ever missed, Please remember, I insist, Our Principal's exclusion list, Jot it down. When your themes come back to you, Jot it down. If they're not all marked with blue, Jot it down. If every lad and every lass, In Miss Cleghorn's English class All examinations pass, Jot it down. When We boost the Acorn Staff, Jot it down. If Brother Porter doesn't laugh, Jot it down. When experiments he's making, And his morning walk he's taking, If his coat-tail isn't shaking, Jot it down. ACORN 29 We've good cooks at W. A., Jot it down. Misses Cragun and McKay, Jot it down. When all classes have begun, Smells arise that make us run, It's the kitchen, ten to one, Jot it down. If the Juniors sluff today, Jot it down. Cowles is still their friend, they say, Jot it down. When he uses all his forces, All his wits and his resources, Boosting aught but lecture courses, Jot it down. When you see that Gym. erected, Jot it down. Plans and bids have been inspected, Jot it down. Many rumors come to greet us, We think Harker ought to treat us, For we've all got the "Gyminitis," Jot it down. When Prof. Jensen makes mistakes, Jot it down. If Miss Earle's head even aches, Jot it down. When Ballantyne his pencil drops, And the choir quickly stops, When Prof. Lind, the question pops, Jot it down. Now there's some that we have missed, Jot it down. But it's time I should desist, And sit down. So don't sit with smiles sublime, As I finish up this rhyme, Maybe we'll get you next time, Jot it down. Eat at STIMPSON'S CAFE, 2460 Grant Avenue |
