Wednesday, November 7, 1928. Learned this AM that I was defeated by Frank Fowles by 1000 votes. I recd 8405 so while I feel badly to loss I am honored to have so many friends. Recd some beautiful roses from Mrs. Jenetta Morrell also had friendly calls from Margret Anderson Valbor Wheelwright, Dr Pugmire and most of my family. It has been a good experience for me and I am some wiser than when I started in the campain. I worked diligently for one month for the whole Republican ticket. Recd not a cent but put into the campain fund 225.00. I feel that with a little more effort I could have been elected. Many friends I have. Thursday, November 8, 1928. Today I have not felt very well so have done very little except try to remember some of my friends who worked most of me to my knowledge, by sending flowers and fruit to the following Mr & Mrs Chas Hollingworth Mrs Joseph Morrell, Mrs. Dora Peterson, Mrs. IN Fulton Mrs. Robert Anderson Mrs Nabor Wheelwright and Mrs. Falek. Dr has been wonderful in gettign along as best he could as I have had no help in the home except Phyllis a niece who stays with us & goes to school. So our meals have been taken out some and rather hurried at home. My Com of wemon put over 38 rallies.
