Show 24 WEBER NORMAL COLLEGE The preparatory work is well balanced and gives the student a good background for the advanced work. For the current year, the course has been enriched by the addition of several subjects that will be of especial advantage to prospective teachers. The Advanced Course of two years is a regular course and meets all the requirements of the State Board of Education. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS An applicant for admission to the Weber Normal College, must offer 15 units of high school or other secondary work from an approved school. Advanced credit on high school work in excess of 15 units is given only after a student has proved his superior scholarship in the College. The minimum number of hours for which a student may register is 15 hours and the maximum is 20. Students who are of mature age and who show ability to pursue special work are admitted as special students. Changes in registration will be granted only by special permission from the faculty. FEES Entrance fee, $10.00 per QuarterThree Quarters $25.00. Certificate fee $3.00. GRADUATION OneA candidate for graduation from the six years Normal course will be granted a Normal Diploma upon presenting sixty hours of College credit, WEBER NORMAL COLLEGE 25 including Theology, English I, and eighteen hours of Education. Upon the presentation of the Normal diploma to the State Board of Education, the applicant may be granted a State Certificate to teach in the public schools of the state. TwoA candidate for graduation from the five years Normal course will be granted a Normal Certificate upon presenting thirty hours of College credit, including Theology, English I, and fourteen hours in Education provided that training is offered as one of the courses. ThreeA grade of sixty is passing, but an average of seventy-five is expected to be maintained in all classes. No credit toward graduation will be given where these requirements are not met. CLASSES Classes will not be organized for fewer than five students. STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEACHERS Normal Certificate A Normal Certificate will be granted to the candidate when the requirements for the certification of teachers as outlined by the State Board of Education have been met.
