Flour --- wait for a grist mill to be built or grind your own. Butter--- churn cream for 45 minutes, salt, knead into mold and cool . Long handled underwear --- everything was cold in the winter, no furnace, no heated car, hot rocks kept the feet warm while traveling long distances, hot rocks warmed the cold bed. Buffalo chips --- pioneers used dried manure for wood in their s·toves . The dipper---family drinking cup. The wax candle---a home-made lighting fixture. Rolling Pin---for rolling pie dough only. Button hooks---used to button ladies high button shoes. Flour bin---a built in bin for flour. The sugar bin---a dollars worth of sugar would half fill it and was considered a large order. Eggs and butter---paid the grocery bills for a large family. Grocery order---sugar, salt, flour, soda, baking powder, and coal-oil. Bacon---a side of a pig which had been rubbed with salt to preserve it, before it could be eaten, it was boiled, then fried: Galvanized bucket---a bucket for milking only. Wood box---Held surplus cut wood, an excellent place to sit to keep warm, and a box full of corrections for un-ruly children. Meat Cleaver---a sort of a do it yourself thing with home grown meat. Horse and Buggy---a sort of roadster with a rumble seat. Outing Flannel---a new baby on the way. Old stove iron---It meant long hours beside a hot kitchen range both winter and summer, ironing clothes. Kerosene Lamps---its dim glow scarcely sufficient to light a room .
