Show WEBER COLLEGE CAMPUS AND BUILDINGS Grounds Weber College Campus comprises nearly all of Block 27, Plat A, which is located between Adams and Jefferson avenues and Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets, Ogden, Utah. Buildings The Louis Frederick Moench Building, which is valued at 250,000 is located on Jefferson avenue between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets, opposite Lester Park. It has twelve lecture rooms, eight laboratory rooms, an auditorium with a seating capacity of approximately eight hundred, and a modern library with stack rooms and reading rooms sufficient to accommodate one thousand students. The English Buildings, the Modern Language Building, the Art Building, the Home Economics Building, and the Beauty Culture Building, all formerly residences, are located upon the campus. The Girls Dormitory, located at 2421 Jefferson avenue, will accommodate twenty people. The College Gymnasium is located on Twenty-fifth street between Adams and Jefferson avenues. It cost approximately 400,000.00 The Gymnasium was dedicated January 9, 1925, and serves both the community and the college, having facilities sufficient to accommodate two thousand people. Ogden Stadium During the summer of 1930, the City of Ogden, the Ogden City Public Schools, the Public Schools of Weber County, and the Weber College erected the Ogden Stadium at a cost of 75,000.00. It is located at Lorin Farr Park, six blocks north of the college campus. Its capacity at the present time is ten thousand. Weber College Student Association purchased the reflectors for the night lighting system at a cost of 3,000.00. College Tennis Court Weber College Alumni Association has established a double Tennis Court at a cost of 3,000.00 on the college campus. DEPARTMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS Students majoring in the respective departments constitute a club. The purpose of this group of organizations is to stimulate an interest on the part of the students in the subject of their department and to assist in rendering their work more pleasurable and profitable. LIBRARY The College Library is a reference and circulating library open to all students. It contains about 15,000 volumes, exclusive of unbound pamphlets. It occupies several rooms grouped together on the second floor of the Moench Building. WEBER COLLEGE FEES AND EXPENSES Registration and Tuition Annual Registration Fee required of all student, payable at time of registration 10.00 Total Fees, a year, paid in advance at time of registration 71.00 Total Fees, a year, paid quarterly in advance 77.00 The Fees for separate quarters has been divided as follows: Autumn Quarter 33.00 Winter Quarter 22.00 Spring Quarter 22.00 Fee for Winter and Spring Quarters 55.00 Fee for Spring Quarter 33.00 Miscellaneous Fees Locker Fee, a quarter 1.00 small .75 Typing Fee, a quarter 2.00 Change of Registration, after second week for each subject .50 Transcript of Credits. Each student entitled to one transcript free. Additional transcripts, each .50 Listening Courses Registration as listener in lecture courses in which no credit is desired, a quarter, per hour subject 1.00 Refunds No refunds will be granted to students who are requested to withdraw from Weber College because of scholarship of any other cause. All students when paying funds are given official receipts from the Treasurers office. These receipts must be presented before refunds are allowed. The students, therefore, should exercise care that the receipts are not lost or mislaid. All fees except 5.00 will be refunded to any student in residence who withdraws during the first week of the quarter; one-half of all fees will be refunded to any student in residence who withdraws during the second or third week of the quarter. No refunds will be allowed after the third week. FINANCIAL RESOURCES The State appropriated for the biennium 1933-34, 1934-35, 73,000.00. Estimated revenue from other sources is 70,000.00 |
