Show 28 DEFICIENCIES IN ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS 1. A student eighteen years of age or over who has not completed fifteen units of high school work may be admitted by passing the General Educational Development Tests or Standard Entrance Tests given by the College. A student with this classification who has been in attendance at a high school within one year preceding the time of application for admission to Weber College must submit a written recommendation from the high school principal. The Admissions Committee may give special privileges to a student applying for admission to the Technical Education Division. 2. A student twenty-one years of age or over who has not completed high school may be admitted if in the judgment of the Admissions Committee his preparation is adequate. A student who is deficient in more than one of the three recommended subjects for admission in the Division of Mathematics and Physical Sciences will likely need extra time to complete graduation requirements. In order to be admitted to Weber College in any of the classifications, a student must be of good moral character. A student who has been dropped from any high school or college on account of poor scholarship, or unsatisfactory conduct, or who is on probation at another institution may not register at Weber College without first appealing to the Standards Committee for entrance. This Committee will be guided by the recommendation of the institution from which such a student transfers. Filing of Credits by August 1 A student who expects to enter Weber College for the first time must make application in writing. Application forms will be furnished by the office of the Registrar upon request. A student should have his high school credits on file in the Registrar's Office by August 1. If his credits are not on file by the time of registration, he may be denied entrance. A student who has taken college work previous to his registration in Weber College must file his credits from all other institutions attended. Pre-registration During each quarter there is a period of pre-registration for the following quarter. Pre-registration is a conference method inaugurated to avoid the problems attendant upon mass registration, and to insure opportunity for giving individual attention to the program of each student. All students are expected to complete their registration, including payment of fees, before the final registration day of each quarter. The normal registration for any one quarter is fifteen quarter hours, exclusive of physical education. Classification of Students After registration, students are classified as Freshmen, Sophomores, and Part-time Students. A student with less than forty quarter hours credit at the beginning of the school year is classified as a Freshman. A student with more than forty quarter hours' credit is classified as a Sophomore. A student who is carrying less than ten quarter hours of work is classified as a Part-time or Special Student. 29 FEES, DEPOSITS, AND REFUNDS The following fees are required of all full-time students.
