Show 94 in Junior and Community College Education for nursing, of Teacher's College, Columbia University. The Two Year Nursing Program is an integral part of the established policies and practices of Weber College. The program is centered in the college, using those community and state facilities which contribute and give strength to the program. By placing the student in a college environment she will be able to enjoy the many cultural and social opportunities available to all students. At the same time she will be developing the skills and judgment she will need in nursing. The courses offered carry full college credit. Successful completion of the program entitles the graduate to the Associate of Science title, and qualifies her to take the State examination for the Registered Nurse license. A course dealing with the care, comfort, and safety of the patient, introduced through lectures, demonstrations, field trips, and experience with patients in the clinical situation. One lecture and one laboratory period. Two quarter hours. Autumn. Neville and Staff 21. Fundamentals of Nursing. A continuation of Nursing 20. Two lectures and two laboratory periods. Four quarter hours. Winter. Neville and Staff 25. Child Health. The approach used in studying Child Health is to assist the student to gain and apply a knowledge, appreciation and understanding of normal growth and development in relationship with children and their family. Two lectures and three laboratory periods. Five quarter hours. Spring. Doss and Staff 26. Maternal Health. Human reproduction is studied from the standpoint of making it physically safe and emotionally satisfying to parents. Four lectures and eight laboratory periods. Twelve quarter hours. Summer. Doss and Staff 28. Clinical Nursing Science. The course includes the study of Medical and Surgical conditions, special nursing techniques, and the care of the acutely ill patient. Ten quarter hours. Autumn. Somers and Staff 29. Clinical Nursing Science. A continuation of Nursing 28. Eleven quarter hours. Winter. Somers and Staff 30. Clinical Nursing Science. A continuation of Nursing 28 and Nursing 29. Ten quarter hours. Spring. Somers and Staff 35. A Survey of Nursing. This will be conducted as a Seminar with the students largely responsible for planning the problems to be discussed.
