Staff Trade Technical 61. Principles and Operation of Diesel Engines. A course dealing with cooling, fuel injection, or air starting valves, and temperature control. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Meske 62. Fuel Injection Systems. A study of fuel and types of injection systems including fuel, ignitions, and combustion of fuels. Ignition and injection, disturbances in process of combustion, and atomizing of the fuel are stressed. Five quarter hours. Winter. Meske 63. Drive Mechanism. A theory course dealing with the transmission of motion through couplings from Diesel power plants to main generators. Five quarter hours. Spring. Meske 64. Elementary Electricity. A theory course dealing with the elementary theory of direct and alternating currents and equipment as well as the method of connecting instruments, generators, insulators, transformers, and control equipment. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Meske 65. Diesel Electrical Concepts. Training in the principles and fundamentals of electricity and current with the control mechanism and current used in Diesel electrical units. Five quarter hours. Winter. Meske 66. Principle of Diesel Controls. An advanced course in the study of electrical controls used in Diesel locomotives; also the concepts used in these controls. Five quarter hours. Spring. Meske 67.
