Show 2 Special Supplement to the Standard-Examiner, Sunday, October 10, 1993 Celebrate with WSU during °93 Homecoming Week It is once again time for Weber State University’s annual Homecoming celebration, October 10 — 16. this year’s celebration is centered around a circus theme, “Weber State University Homecoming — The Greatest a Event on Earth.” The theme ous allows us to include a variety of exciting and fun activities throughout the week, ranging from roving clowns on campus to special circus — like surprises in the Homecoming parade. Huge Homecoming events scheduled throughout are the week the to culminate in Football game on October 16. There are 22 people on the central Homecoming committee, with 11 sub committees that plan each minuscule detail to make Homecoming a success. Each committee is chaired by a student and staff/faculty member thereby promoting greater cooperation across campus. Students are nominated throughout campus based on their involvement and personal attributes. These nominations then are reviewed by a committee consisting of community members, the Homecoming Parade Grand Marshals and campus members. Interviews are also conducted to select finalists. The finalists are then voted on by the student body at large. Those who are selected as King and Queen and attendants then reign throughout the week of Homecoming Prepare for the big game at this year’s Tailgate Party held October Events take place through- out the week including daytime events. This year those on campus will run into clowns tying balloons, handing out popcorn and basically “clowning” around.
