Weber meets Modesto College this evening and. the game holds forth the promise of being the type of football that is near to the hearts of Ogden fans. Ogdenites always relish a game between their home school and a California outfit. Both Modesto and Weber have been sporting flashy passing attacks and this evenings game may well resolve itself into a passing duel between Weber's Roger Hall and Modesto's snappy quarterback, Mickey Ulloa. Modesto will outweigh the "Wildcats" slightly on both the line and in the backfield, but Weber has a pretty impressive offensive record stacked up for them . . . Beating Hill Air Force Base 24-7 and thrashing Dixie College 31-6. Modesto proved that they could roll up scores too when they trounced Martinez California by a handsome score of 26-0. The game tonight will break a game-tie between the two schools. Weber and Modesto have traded victories in two previous meetings. The last one held on this same turf gave Weber the edge with a 28-27 margin. Modesto had a good reason last year. They dumped Los Angeles City College (the nations largest Junior College) by a score of 20-12, upset powerful Stockton 7-6 and whipped San Francisco 14-7. Modesto Coach Stan Pavko is expecting big things out of his California squad this year and believes he has the material for them to do big things with. His team boasts three all- Northern California team members as selected by the San Francisco Chronicle, four All-Valley line-men and two backs, one Merced league tackle and one all-State (Nevada) halfback.
