HEAD COACH MILTON C. MECHAM Mecham assumed head coach responsibilities at Weber College in 1946, following his discharge from the Army, where he served in the Pacific theatre as a captain of artillery. Prior to the war, Mr. Mecham coached freshman football at the University of Utah for two years. He lettered on the University pigskin squad for three years prior to his graduation with a Bachelors degree in 1938. "Milt" played high school ball under Earl Ferguson at Box Elder in 1934. That seasons' play won him all-state quarterback title. Coach Mecham has led the "Wildcat" squad through five successful seasons. During those seasons there has been nothing of the "selective scheduling" going on for Mecham coached teams. Under his tutorship, the Weber boys have opposed such junior college "greats" as Compton, Los Angeles City College, Pasadena, John Muir et al. With the exception of incomparable Compton, Mecham-mentored teams have taken their share of victories from all of them. Those who work with "Milt," Know him as an energetic, hard-working coach who takes his football seriously. His off-season months are taken up with plans for the coming year. When he is not working on a "sure-fire play," he is out making "a few calls," on likely looking prospects. When not making "calls" he may be seen in the bleachers of any high school game held in the area just "looking the boys over" and a fair sized portion of his time is spent in wrestling with knotty athletic financial problems. p \Csjcs_y3 Femminine Apparel 2446 Washington Blvd. Dial 2-6588 YOUR Westinghouse HEADQUARTERS NINETY YEARS OF DEPENDABLE SERVICE 'BEST WISHES TO WEBER" You're always welcome at Ogden's nationally known cafe 24th St. AT KIESEL You'll enjoy our excellent lunches or dinners . . .
