Show In 1906, David O. McKay was chosen a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. He retained his position as principal of the Weber Stake Academy until 1908. During the period 1906 to 1908, Wilford M. McKendrick acted as assistant principal. At the close of the year 1907-08, David 0. McKay resigned as principal. Wilford M. McKendrick succeeded him in that position. He served as principal for two years, 1908 to 1910. During the summer of 1908, the Weber Stake, which included all of Weber County, was divided into three stakes; the Weber, North Weber, and Ogden Stakes. Agreeable to this change, the name of the Weber Stake Academy was changed to Weber Academy. At the same time, the Board of Education of the Academy was reorganized. The title was changed to Board of Trustees. David O. McKay was named as President of the Board, Lewis W. Shurtliff became Vice President, John Watson, Treasurer, and Heber Scowcroft, Secretary. These, with Charles F. Middleton, Thomas B. Evans, David Eccles, and James Wotherspoon made up the Board of Trustees. In addition, the Boards of Education of the three stakes, consisting of the presidencies of these stakes, were named as advisors to the Board of Trustees, of the Academy. They were: Lewis W, Shurtliff, Charles F. Middleton, John Watson, Weber Stake; James Wotherspoon, John V. Bluth, Francis W. Stratford, North Weber Stake; Thomas B. Evans, Charles C. Rich, Wilford M. McKendrick, Ogden Stake. William W. Henderson became principal of the Weber Academy in 1910. He served until 19l4, when he was succeeded by James L. Barker, who was principal from 191k to 1917.
