Our 91" Church Anniversary Guest Speaker Reverend Dr. Bruce Davis, Sr. Born in New Orleans, LA, August 3, 1959, the fourth of five children, Dr. Davis is proud to be the son of Pastor William and Sister Luevell Harper. Dr. Davis is married to the former Sabrina E. Wells of Gulfport and is the father of three daughters, two sons and eleven grandchildren. Dr. Davis was brought up in the church during his early years, serving as a junior deacon at age 12. He later joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Long Beach, MS where he received his license to preach and was ordained in 1985. In 1988, Dr. Davis started his first pastoral assignment in Gulfport, MS serving 14 years. Dr. Davis then served New Testament Baptist Church, Hattiesburg, MS for 7 years. In 2007, God sent Dr. Davis to New Zion Baptist Church, Ogden, Utah where he diligently served for 4 years. ; In June 1999, Dr. Davis received his Bachelors Degree in Theology; graduating magna cum Laude with a 3.82 GPA; followed by his Master's Degree graduating magna cum laude with a 3.90 GPA; and in 2007 he received his Doctor of Divinity Degree, also graduating magna cum laude with a 3.85 GPA from Slidell Baptist Seminary in Slidell, LA. Dr. Davis received a Christian Education Diploma from the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. graduating with outstanding achievement in completion of the requirement for the Certificate of Progress Program June 12, 2008, certified to teach in all four phases. He became a Certified instructor through the National Baptist Convention, USA September 4, 2008. Inducted into Strathmore’s 20" Who’s Who Honors for leadership and achievement in 20117. Dr. Davis responded in obedience to the Holy Spirit to answer the call of Ebenezer Baptist Church, assuming the position of Senior Pastor and Spintual leader in December 2011. Dr. Davis’ desire and vision for Ebenezer of himself, is to lead God’s people into the Promised Land by the aid of the Holy Spint under praise and worship unto the Lord. The passion and spiritual wisdom with which Dr. Davis imparts the Word of God has significantly begun to transform Ebenezer and ignite their hearts to embrace the divinely inspired vision he possesses to take Ebenezer to the next Spiritual level as committed servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On a personal note, Dr. Davis is a God-fearing man who teaches and preaches the Word under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and is a very caring Man of God.
