Show New Zion Baptist Church History On the Beginning Loa, Aas |> Available records indicate that in (HE the Utah Baptist State Convention purchased a lot on Wall Avenue in Ogden, where the congregation huilt the Wall Avenue Baptist Church, The church was incorporated | on February 10, 1920, Our First Pastors .... On October 2, 1930, the Reverend LA. Platt of Ontario, California, became the first Pastor of the Wall Avenue Baptist Church, He pastured for SIX years, Reverend B. 9, Washington was called to pastor New Zion on April &, 1952 and under his leadership, the congregation grew into the need of a new church building. Through this effort, Wall Avenue Baptist Church became New Zion Baptist Church. Reverend Washington pastured. at New Zion Baptist Church for ten years, Church Growth in Our Present Location .... Current Leadership Laas New Zion is embarking on an exciting future with our newly installed Senior Pastor, Reverend Doctor Bruce Davis, Sr., who hails from Hattiesburg, MS. We truly feel enormously blessed to have him and First Lady Sabrina Davis, who have taken a step of faith in obedience to God to travel across the country to join with us as servants here in the vineyard of New Zion, We echo Pastor Davis’ sentiments and joyously agree “We've all‘got afeeling everything is gonna be alright! " We prayerfully seek the wisdom and.‘guidance of the Holy Spirit as we endeavor to accomplish all the Lord has predestined New Zion to do for His divine glory. We embrace Pastor Davis’ motto that “bible reading, bible teaching and bible believing makes a strong Christian and a strong Christian makes a strong church.” Over the years, many lost souls have surrendered their Gives to Jesus Christ here at New Zion and we continue to strive to be a strong church, which has heen "Called to be a True Witness for Christ!” | |
