Show From the Pastor’s Desk ...... N\ @ a As we enter into the third month that I serve as Pastor i at New Zion, God gave me the message of the 23" Psalm as direction for us at this time in our spiritual church life. In order to follow these directions, change must take place. Change is not a friend to everyone, but change can help everyone become a friend to another. As I taught on the message of “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” it was my prayer that everyone heard the message God was giving directly to you as an individual; not just to hear the “sound of the message” but hear the “meat of the message.” My desire is that you took it into your heart as if you were reading a book, taking the words off the pages and letting it minister to where change needs to take place in your life. Yes, “I Got A Feeling Everything’s Gonna’ Be Alright” but I also “got a feeling that change has got to take place.” We must change the way we follow Christ and we must follow Him all the way to the cross and on to victory. This is a good time to give up our old way of doing things and take our triumphs and trials as Christ took His. Take them all the way to the cross, let them die, bury them and rise above them. Aren’t you glad that Christ suffered, died and rose again to show us the way to live, truly live? Living in Christ allows us to rise in victory in all things. God as called us together for such a time as this in the life of New Zion. Let us walk together as we change and grow into His likeness during this Easter season. Be encouraged in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding, have faith and feel the presence of the Lord as growth takes place here at New Zion. Don’t stay on the Cross, meet me at Calvary, where Victory shall be ours! In His Name, Dr. Bruce Davis, Sr., Senior Pastor New Zion Baptist Church |
