Band members will attempt to collect a mile of pennies—about $800—at shopping centers in Roy and Layton Saturday. . Groups of performers will entertain in the centers between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., asking people to contribute all the pennies in their pockets or purses to the scholarship fund. The second part of the campaign will be a “band-a-rama” in the Weber State Fine Arts Center next Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased from any band member or by calling 399-5941, extension 223.
