Show This year the assemblies have not only given us time away from classwork but have provided great entertainment for Warriors. The best assembly was awarded a trophy for their outstanding work. The main attraction of the National Honor Society Assembly was a group called “Four of a Kind.” They received a standing ovation from the entire studentboay. For three days the Drama II class presented the Laugh-In Assembly. Using quick skits, requiring fast timing, the assembly went smoothly. The students wrote the script and developed the effect desired. April Fool’s Day, an appropriate day for the Junior Class Assembly. The assembly was featuring the stage band. Contestants were presented for Junior Prom Queen along with the theme “The Day’s of Wine and Roses.” What is a sophomore? During the opening assembly a sophomore was depicted as a person who is going up and down stairs. The Seminary skit presented seniors, juniors, and the low and dirty things, sophs. There were many skits presented, all showing the true nature of the sophomore as seen through the eyes of the junior and mighty senior. The Sophomore Assembly was themed “A Little Bit of Heaven.” When, before St. Peter, the sophomore decided to let the junior and senior share heaven for one night at the Sophomore Dance. The celebrated Utah Symphony honored Weber High with a special concert. Under the direction of Maestro Maurice Abravanel, this instrumental group has proven to be one of the world’s outstanding orchestras. Since students put on the majority of assemblies, the faculty decided to present one. Maybe it was the melodious strains from Tiny Tim, the fabulous piano performance, a dying Goliath, or those favorite M.C.’s that made this assembly so enjoyable. An assembly touching Holland, France, Japan, and Hawaii was presented by the Pep Club and Cheerleaders. “Saturday Night at the World” was the theme of both the Pep Club Assem- bly and Pep Club Dance. Folk dances of each country were the highlights of the assembly. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was announced this year’s Christmas Dance theme at the Warriorette Assembly. Warriorettes practiced many long hours perfecting their dances and marches. “Nio Man Is An Island,” everyone needs other people and is interested in them. This was brought out by the foreign exchange students in the American Field Service Assembly. Truly, we need one another. “Camelot” was the theme of the Girls’ Association Assembly. The assembly was based on the story of King Arthur. The A’ Cappella Choir sang the theme song “Camelot”. |
