Show DO YOU STUDY WITH THE RADIO ON OR OFF? When the question was asked if students study with the radio on or off, there was an overwhelming number of replies. The majority of students study with the radio on. They found thar their homeworls seemed less boring and that their creativiry flowed. Music was said fo be both stimulating an relaxing. “The homework seems to flow with the music,”’ Jason Hemsley remarked. There were a few students, however, who protested the idea that listening to the radio helped that the in studying. music They felt interfered with their concentration, dered their thought and it hinmore than it helped. Marching band requires a lot of dedication and hard worl. the members practice every day during the summer for at least three hours. All the music must be memorized, and the marching formations must be in time with the music. Since this Is AN OUrside class and is nor held during school hours, ar times the students practice before and after school to prepare for special occasions like foorball halftimes, and Weber’s basl<erball games. Last year they were picked to play for a college and some high schools in California. Their goal for this year and the many years fo come will be to travel across the country and play for many audiences. Though marching band involves a lor of self-discipline, the members love it and say thar they have a special friendshio berween them.
