WEBER COLLEGE 23 COURSES OF INSTRUCTION Botany BOTANY 1. General Botany. An introduction to the principles of biology from the plant point of view. Gross anatomy, physiology, and evolution of representative forms will be considered. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 2. Seed Plants. A study of the higher plants with special reference to anatomy and physiology. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 3. Plant Evolution and Inheritance. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 4. Histology and Microtechnique. A course in the technique of preparing, staining, and mounting sections of microscopic examinations, including a study of plant tissues and tissue systems. One lecture and two laboratory perods a week. Prerequisites: Botany 1, 2, or 3. Three quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 5. Plant Ecology. A study of plants in their relation to environment. Two lectures and one laboratory period a week. Prerequisites: Botany 1, 2, or 3. Three quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 6. Spring Flora of the Wasatch. A study of the classification of local spring flowers and the principles of nomenclature. Two lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Four quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 7. Plant Physiology. A study of the physiological processes of living plants. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Croft. BOTANY 8. Conservation of Natural Resources.
