General Zoology. This course covers the fundamental principles of animal biology, including structure, function, and relation of animals, and a short treatment of existing theories. Four lectures and one laboratory period a week. Five quarter hours. Young. ZOOLOGY 2. General Zoology. A continuation of Zoology 1. Particular attention is paid to vertebrates and general biological principles. Four lectures and one laboratory period a week. Five quarter hours. Young. ZOOLOGY 4. Invertebrate Zoology. Designed especially for pre-medical students. Animals which cause disease, carry germs, or are structurally of medical importance are selected for laboratory work. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Young. WEBER COLLEGE 31 ZOOLOGY 5. Comparative Vertebrate Zoology. A continuation of Zoology 4, which is prerequisite. Five quarter hours. Young. ZOOLOGY 10. Vertebrate Embryology. Especially designed for pre-medical students. Must be preceded by Zoology 4 and 5. This course comprises a study of the chick embryo and the principles of vertebrate development. Two lectures and three laboratory periods a week. Five quarter hours. Young. ZOOLOGY 17. General Entomology. A course designed to provide a general knowledge of insect structure, classification, and development. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Prerequisite: Zoology 1. Five quarter hours. Young. ZOOLOGY 18. Economic Entomology. A practical study of injurious and beneficial insects. Three lectures and two laboratory periods a week. Prerequisite: Zoology 1 or 17. Five quarter hours. (Not given 1935-36.) Physiology PHYSIOLOGY 1. General Human Physiology. A course devoted to the study of the care and functions of the human body. Four lectures and one laboratory period a week. Five quarter hours. Young. PHYSIOLOGY 2. Principles of Physiology. A study of the development and function of the human body as the essential basis for the study of hygiene, dietetics, and materia medica, and pathological conditions. Five quarter hours.
