Devoted to training in trios, quartets, etc. Students may take this course by permission of the teacher only, and will be required to play at school functions. One quarter hour. Parry. MUSIC 33. Instrumental Combinations. Designed to give training in solos, duets, trios, quartets, etc. Frequent and prominent public appearances throughout the year give students training in practical application before audiences. One quarter hour. Parry. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION COURSES The following subjects are given in private lessons only. Special fees are charged for private instruction. MUSIC 40. Piano. A minimum of six hours' practice a week for one lesson, and twelve hours for two lessons a week. One quarter hour credit for one lesson a week and two quarter hours' credit for two lessons a week. Time to be arranged. C. Anderson. MUSIC 41. Violin, Cello. A minimum of eight hours' practice a week for one lesson. One quarter hour. Fifteen hours practice for two lessons a week. Two quarter hours. Time to be arranged. MUSIC 42. Brass Instruments. A minimum of six hours' practice a week for one lesson. One quarter hour. Twelve hours' practice for two lessons a week. Two quarter hours. Time to be arranged. MUSIC 43. Pipe Organ. A minimum of six hours' practice a week for one lesson. One quarter hour. Twelve hours' practice for two lessons a week. Special Activities Directed by the Music Department Each year the department of Music concentrates its efforts upon development of one or more special projects. Heretofore, such efforts have resulted in trips to cities in the neighborhood of Ogden and often to distant places in other states. In April, 1935, the Region Number One Music Festival was sponsored by Weber College.
