Show The fireproof building is well "rooted" to the earth. Extending 72 feet below the boiler room floor level are 236 concrete piles, extending into a heavy clay bed. Three months were required to set the piling. On the east and west walls of the building is heat-resistant glass, tinted blue. The south side is equipped with aluminum sun shades projecting approximately four feet from the building. Windows and frames throughout are of aluminum. Interior floors are covered with terrazzo in the lobbies and carpet in bank offices. There are satin finish aluminum rails, marble fixtures, and cabinet wood partitions. Lighting throughout features recessed fluorescent fixtures and modern spotlighting. The entire building is air-conditioned, with individual controls in the office rental areas. Rental floors are served by a high velocity central air conditioning plant from the penthouse. Air conditioning for the banking operations is on a separate master system.
