Show An Industrial Building in Utah for the Commercial and Stamping Company in the amount of $305,000. Scott Air Force Base Housing: Daily-Lewis Acres consists of 1000 modern two and three-bedroom apartments, for the exclusive use of Air Force personnel stationed at Scott Air Force Base, contained in 215 buildings on more than 106 acres of land. There are 180 four-unit buildings and 35 eight- unit structures, all of frame construction on reinforced concrete foundations, with brick veneer exterior to the second floor line and asbestos shingle siding above. Ground floors are concrete, second floors wooden, sub- flooring, felt and masonite, bath floors being covered with asphalt tile. All walls and ceilings are plastered and insulated, and all windows and exterior doors weather-stripped. Each unit is equipped with a refrigerator, gas range, and an individual thermostat controlled heating system. Each building has laundry facilities, and storage room for each living unit. Children's recreational facilities are provided, a shopping center is available and a new elementary school is adjacent. Total value of the development, including its own water distributing and sewerage systems is $9,435,000. Sandia Heights and Kirtland Heights consist of 760 units with attached garages, built for rental to military personnel at Sandia and Kirtland bases and to employees of Sandia Corporation, Atomic Energy Commission. There are 380 two-bedroom homes and 380 with three bedrooms, all with pumice block exteriors, concrete floors and flat type roofs. Each is equipped with range, refrigerator, washer, wall heaters, water heater, exhaust fan and Venetian blinds. Rents include garbage and trash removal. An adjacent, modern elementary school provides playground and recreational facilities, and Boy and Girl Scout Club House quarters are being developed. Water Supply and sewage disposal are provided by the City of Albuquerque, with an emergency secondary water source at the Sandia Base. The development's total value is $7,215,000. Santa Lucia Village: Another Salinas Valley project in which the Utah Construction Company participated is Santa Lucia Village, consisting of more than 250 single family homes of two and three bedrooms, valued at $1,500,000. Both developments were built during the period from 1949 through 1951. Duplex Houses in Utah for the Kennecott Copper Corporation in the amount of $198,500. Mission Apartments: In California's Salinas Valley, the "lettuce capital" of the nation, Utah participated in the construction of the Mission Apartments, consisting of eight structures of 12 units each, costing in excess of $700,000. Ore loading facilities in British Columbia for the Argonaut Mining Company in the amount of $800,000. |
