Show 1958 Projects completed during this period were: 1 - Long Sault Dam Located on the St. Lawrence River near the city of Messena in the State of New York, this project was completed in 1958. It is a gravity type dam with a structural height of 114 feet and a crest length of 7,340 feet. The volume content of the dam is 660,000 cubic yards. The purpose of the dam is power and navigation. The project was engineered by the Power Authority of the State of New York and is also owned by them. The project was constructed by a joint venture consisting of Walsh Construction Co.; Morrison-Knudsen Co., Inc.; Perini Corporation; Peter Kiewit Sons Company; and Utah. Our share was 15%. Approximate cost of the project was $25,750,000. 2 - - Table Rock Dam Located on the White River near the city of Branson in Missouri, this project was completed in 1958. It is an earthfill type dam with a structural height of 252 feet and a crest length of 6, 423 ft. The volume content of the dam is 4, 530, 000 cubic yards. The reservoir's name is Table Rock also and its capacity is 3,452,000 acre feet. Purposes for construction of this dam were power and flood control. This project was engineered and is owned by the U. S. Corps of Engineers. It was constructed by a joint venture composed of Morrison-Knudsen Co. Inc.; McEachern Investment Co.; General Construction Co.; H. B. Zachary Co.; Ralph E. Mills Co. Inc.; Fruin-Colnon Construction Co.; and Utah. Our share was 20% and the approximate cost of the project was $24,400,000. 3 - Grass River Lock in New York for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in the amount of $24,550,000. Utah only had a percentage of this project and did not sponsor. 4 - Recondition and Line in Nevada for the Western Pacific Railroad Company in the amount of $433,000. |
