Show 5 - Fertilizer Plant A project to design, engineer, and contract a complex solid fertilizer plant and appurtenant utilities at Chandler, Arizona. The cost of the project was $1,545,000. The contract price was a guaranteed maximum cost plus a fee. 6 - Sulphuric Acid Plant in Arizona for the Southwestern Agrochemical Corporation in the amount of $500,000. 7 - Lucky Mc Uranium Mine and Mill and Concentrator, Riverton, Wyoming. This project exemplifies the comprehensive range of our activities in developing and completing a major metallurgical installation, from idea through production. First, Utah Construction Company's geologists conducted all exploration operations, including geological surveys, location of ore bodies, and development of the basic mine planning and optimum mining methods. Then, undertaking activities ordinarily performed by an Owner, Utah Construction Company began the master planning and developing for this 750 tons per day Acid Leach, CCD, Uranium Mill. Pilot Plant metallurgical tests, conducted under the direction of Utah's engineers, established basic design criteria for the several phases of preliminary engineering. Following this, our engineers then prepared economic feasibility studies and determined plant cost estimates, together with a complete summary of the proposed plant operations for review and acceptance by the Owner and by the Atomic Energy Commission. Once the overall project planning was approved, Utah accepted complete responsibility for design and process engineering, procurement and construction. Mill facilities included five 100' diameter wood stave thickener tanks with acid-proof stainless steel mechanisms, an ion exchange designed for a throughput of 500 GPM, and complete drying and packaging equipment for handling the U3O8 concentrate. |
