Francis Budge '11 EXCHANGE The proverb "Practice makes perfect," seems to be true in regard to the school papers on our exchange list. They are becoming better every issue. This month we have received a number of new exchanges most of which are well balanced and very good. There is a tendency however in a number of the papers to favor or over balance the local departments and slight the departments which are of more general interest to outside readers. The literary departments in most of our exchanges are increasing in strength and interest. The High School Argus is one of the best papers in our exchange list. We think the exchange editor has the correct idea concerning his department. White and Blue, the article entitled "The College Man's Mark" is excellent. The arguments in it could and should be applied to the High School Man, also. THE ACORN 13 The cover of the January issue of The Ingot impresses us as exceptionally neat and artistic. The contents are also of a high standard. "An Unexpected Celebration in The Herald, Holyoke, is worthy of particular mention. The Purple and White, Allentown Pa., certainly reflects much credit upon its student staff and student body. We find in it material of a more solid and substantial character than that usually contained in high school papers. S. H. S. Review, your cover is becoming monotonous, a change would be highly appreciated by all the readers, we're sure. The Red and Black, Reading, Pa., ranks among our best exchanges. Its departments are all well edited. Lariat, Cheyenne, Wyo. What is your idea of mixing your ads in with your reading matter. We would suggest a change in this regard.
