Show ATHLETICS Although our boys lost the championship, they deserve worthy mention owing to the fact that they easily landed second place. The standing of the teams is as follows: Won. Lost. B. E. H. S. 8 0 Weber 6 2 O. H. S. 3 5 S. C. H. S. 2 6 N. C. H. S. 1 7 On January 30, 1915, the N. C. H. S. was defeated in our gym by a score of 40 to 16. The game was easily won, which is shown by the one-sided score. The lineup: WEBER. N. C. H. S. Foul goals Belnap 4 out of 9, Herbert 1 out of 4, Tripp 12 out of 23. _ Perhaps the hardest game of the season was the one against Brigham on February 4th, 1915, on the Weber floor. The score was close throughout the entire game, Brigham gaining a slight lead in the first half which could not be overcome. The score was 22-28. The lineup: WEBER. BRIGHAM. Belnap Forward R. ACORN 22 South Cache H. S. fell at the hands of Weber on the latter's floor February 6th, 1915, by a score of 38 to 24. The outcome of the game was never in doubt, and very little form was shown by either team. The lineup: WEBER. S. C. H. S. Critchlow-Brewer-Wilkinson Forward. I. Foul goals Belnap 4 out of 12, and Bird 8 out of 13. Ogden High School thought that she would slip one over on Weber February 11, 1915, but found out that she had run up against a "stone" wall. Our boys outplayed them in every way. The final score was 24 to 15 in Weber's favor. The lineup: WEBER. O. H. S. Belnap Forward Ruby Wilkinson Forward Moyes Nixon Center Fuller Herbert Guard Beck Wilde Guard Bune Field goals Nixon 5, Belnap, Wilkinson, Ruby and Fuller 2, and Bune 1. Foul goals Belnap 4 out of 12, and Ruby 5 out of 9. On February 19th, 1915, Weber went to Brigham City to play the B. E. H. S. team, but came back defeated owing to the narrowness of the hall and the crippled team of Weber. The lineup: WEBER. BRIGHAM. Belnap Forward R. Jeppson Critchlow Forward N. Foul goals Belnap 5 out of 8 and Jensen 4 out of 10. The final game of the season was played with O. H. S. on their floor February 25th, 1915. The Academy defeated them after a stiff fight, but never did O. H. S. threaten to overlead them. The score was 20 to 26. The lineup: |
