Show 26 THE ACORN Juniors President Wm. F. Driver Vice President Katherine McKay Secretary and Treasurer, Ethel Guild Executive Wm. Ellis Class Motto, Unity is Strength. Class Color, Crimson. The Junior Party On the bright moonlight evening of October 25, 1906, the Class of '08 gave a delightful party in the Domestic Arts room. This was the first party that has been given this year. The room was artistically decorated in crimson, the class color. The party began at 8:30 and many interesting games were played during the first part of the evening, a book being given as a prize to the winner of the contest game. Refreshments were then served, during which toasts were given. We all separated feeling that our friendship had been made stronger, and that we had come nearer to the perfection of our ideal motto, "Unity is Strength." Seniors President Arthur Budge Vice President Lettie Taylor Secretary and Treas. Rosella Ferrin Executive Bryant Jacobs Class Motto, "Spare moments are the gold dust of time." Class Color, Heliotrope. Class Yell, S-e-n-i-o-r-s! S-e-n-i-o-r-s! S-e-n-i-o-r-s! Seniors! ! ! The annual reunion of the Class of 1907, held October 31, 1906, was an event that will long be remembered. The decorations inspired thoughts of that night when "Some merry, friendly, cuntra folk, Together did convene To burn their nits, an' pon their stock An' haud their Hallow'een." Games were played the fore part of the evening, and when each member drew the name of a song to be sung, every one, knowing that Prof. Ballantyne's reputation was at stake, did his best. All were creditable, but the "Star Spangled Banner" rendered by the only comedian, B. S. Jacobs would have made the professor's heart leap with joy. In dancing the Virginia reel to the strains coming from the orchestra every one tripped lightly in a way that would make their parents smile. While luncheon was being served, toasts were responded to and stories told. As a fitting close all gathered together, and with a voice that filled the halls with ringing echoes shouted: S-e-n-i-o-r-s ! S-e-n-i-o-r-s ! S-e-n-i-o-r-s ! Seniors ! ! ! !
