Show 14 ACORN son reminded the students the other day that it was not the angels of the school who used it. In her last talk to the student body, Mrs. Kunz advanced the theory that people resemble various styles of architecture. She conclusively proved the point by using the faculty as an illustration. The bronze tablet presented to the Weber Academy, February 12, 1913, by the Dix-Logan Post of the G. A. R. through Mr. C. N. Strevell. ACORN 15 Senior Elations Did you ever stop to consider that the boys who won the basketball championship are all Seniors? Well, it is the truth, and the class is proud of it. Perhaps it was because of this great victory that the '13s did not feel badly over losing the debate with the Juniors. We Seniors are elated over the action of the board in granting us the use of the kitchen for a class part. We intend making this one even surpass the one held at the Fourth Ward Hall. Preparations are being made for the commencement exercises. We are aiming to have them the best ever presented in the history of the school. It is with many regrets that we think of the time when we must leave Weber. However, we intend to go out into the world with a desire to do right and to practice the truths which we have learned at the school we love. Junior Doings Rah, rah, rah, Juniors! Are we entitled to the cheers of everyone? Yes. Just think that we won the Senior-Junior debate from the learned Seniors. Lorenzo Richards, Vera Tracy and Glenard Gould were the victorious ones. They have the best wishes of every Junior if that will help them win the Junior-Freshman debate. We all want to see a '14 on the cup. Professor Porter has handed in his resignation as our class adviser on account of having too many other duties. Miss Pearl Cragun has been chosen to fill the vacancy. Have you all heard of the great social event which is to occur on April 18? Juniors and everyone, boost for the dance. We need the money! Sophomore Spring Poems Hurrah for the Sophomores whose fame is renowned. Hurrah for their wisdom their minds are all sound. Hurrah for their girls, though they like their own way. Hurrah for the boys who do as the girls say. The Sophomore class is hushed and still; That stillness is a kind of trance. The class will slumber on until Our president calls a Sophomore dance. |
