MON. JULY 21, 1919. Paris. Left Paris at nine this AM drove to Montpelier. Dr called on Mr Hoffan buisness & I went to see Ruby & children who were at her mothers. Left Montpelier at one oclock & drove by way of the canon & Thomas Fork to Freedom Store Valley. Dr shot chicken and we had a fine camp dinner. TUESDAY 22. Freedom. We stayed here all night found beds here with a women who had lived in this town 30 yr. Left at seven thirty and drove down to the Snake River. Thair caught a nice trout which we cooked later in the day. Crossed Snake River on Ferry & stayed at Kelley all night. WEDNESDAY 23. Have never seen more beautiful flowers than in Pie canon going from Lealaie to Jackson Hole. We left Kelly early drove down the valley & had wild chicken cooked over camp fire or our friends the gas stop. a delight feel days ride stopped at Moran dam an hr or more. Arrived at Yellowstone Lake about six PM. The Yellow Stone Lake. THURS. JULY 24, 1919. We stayed at the Wet Y. caps & they were fine beds. Did our own cooking here as no food accommodations. The children were delighted to see the bears which came so close to our table we had to make them go away. Also sa deer. Drove from here to the Grand Canyon. Very beautiful all the way. Took supper all dance this evening. FRIDAY 25. Canon Hotel. A beautiful place over 400 guests here meet Ed Woods & party here. Avon, of course had a nice time. Thro Eds kindness we were able to get a room as hotel was full. Drove from here to Mammoth which was a disapointment stayed a short time & drove to Old Faithful. Stayed at Hotel meet Mrs. Pr. Pingree and enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel. SATURDAY 26. Old Faithful. Enjoyed seeing the Geysors play and after looking around here. Started back thro the part to the East Entrance again. found the roads wonderfull ever where along the rivers and thro tall pines. Drove to Moran Dam & stayed at Geaton Lodge all night. A wonderful supper.
